Happy Birthday to ME in NYC!

For my 33 birthday (December 8, in case you want to put it in your calendar for next year) Kris planned a family vacation to New York City! What a blast we all had, here are a few of the highlights...

We left Rochester Thursday, December 6th at 5:15pm and arrived in the Poconos at 9:30pm, after checking in we had time for a 15 minute swim in the pool.
After arriving in Hoboken, NJ at 10am our first stop was at City Hall Bakery to pick up a few Lobster Tail pastries, YUMMY!
Then out to the pier to get a look at the city from NJ.
Then we took the path train under the river to 33rd St in NYC.

Mason had his heart set on going to the top of the
Empire State Building.
Anna wants to see Lady Liberty...that is for tomorrow.
What else would you eat in NYC...PIZZA!
Stopped in Times Square
We went into the largest Toys R Us ever. Anna was so happy that she got hugs and kisses from Geoffrey the Giraffe while we were there.
After all that shopping we took a break at Jamba Juice, another of my favorites.
Then to M&M World and we looked at the Macy's windows and the window at Sax and we made a stop in American Girl Place.
While walking the streets we also had a few "dirty water dogs" and soft pretzels.

Then we headed to Rockefeller Center to see
"New York's Christmas Tree"
For dinner we met up Dana in Hoboken and ate at Buskar's Bar and Grill. The kids were so tired they passed out on the bench seat. Quiet Dinner.
Saturday morning for breakfast we celebrated with cake...Anna loved the frosting flowers. One of my gifts was the book Deceptively Delicious, more to come on this soon.
Then we headed back off to the city for more tourism.
Back on the Path train to the World Trade Center stop.

Ground Zero
This was the strangest feeling arriving a to a station that before 911 was underground, now as we arrived into the station we saw the sunlight, an a large hole. I like all Americans can say exactly where we were and what we were doing on 911. We spent some time talking to the kids about what happened and why I was in tears. This was so moving!

We took a rest and a look at the map before heading to see the
Statue of Liberty
We took the Water Taxi tour.

We saw NYC, Jersey City, Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge, and some other stuff.
We got off the boat at the Seaport and decided to walk across the
Brooklyn Bridge.
After completing our hike we met up with Dana in Brooklyn for more PIZZA!
We made a few shopping stops in Little Italy, Chinatown and Canal Street.
To Celebrate my birthday as an "adult"
Kris and Dana thought we should go out drinking, we went to Nag's Head. Brin, one of Dana's roommates babysat the kids, THANK YOU!!
Before leaving Hoboken we ate ate breakfast at the Bagel Smashery, picked up 6 more Lobster Tail pastries, and a whole "pie" from Imposto's.
After leaving Hoboken we even made a stop at IKEA!! I love this store.
We arrived home safely Sunday night at 9:30pm.
Dana,
Thank you for hosting our
Zip Invasion!!!
Kris,
