Students as Scientists

Mason is the only 1st grader in his school to have the opportunity to be a part of the Students as Scientist Project. Mason is so excited about the big presentation @ 10:45 am on Monday, Novemeber 24, 2008. You can watch online.

Here is a bit of info from the Stream Team Blog, to read more check Mrs. Smith's MST portal online.

11 students in grades K-5 will be presenting, “Students as Scientists” on
Monday, November 24th at the NYSCATE Annual Conference. They have
spent numerous hours afterschool and during their lunch time brainstorming
and organizing their ideas, writing their scripts, creating a PowerPoint, and
rehearsing their presentation. Their session will be “hands-on” with
audience members learning how to collect data on water quality and identifying
macroinvertebrates that the students will be collecting at three different
stream locations on the morning of the presentation. Check out their Stream Team Wiki to learn more and don’t forget to read the
incredible discussions taking place on the wiki pages! They’d love some
outside voices added to the conversations taking place.

We plan on streaming the session at http://www.ustream.tv/mstportal starting at 10:45 EST on Monday.

Thank you to all the teachers and others who have helped make this possible. Mason has loved every minute of this project and he has learned a ton too! Thank you!!!

Everybody loves bacon

My family LOVES bacon!
Last Christmas we even bought Kris Bacon Salt.
Today while I was listening to the TV on the last hour of the Today Show, the ladies tried Chocolate Covered Bacon...

Not sure what to make of this one?
I would try it if I ever had the chance.
